Discovering Talent in Las Vegas
Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 6:00PM So I was in Las Vegas for a few days for a convention, and being a Mormon in Las Vegas, I was bored :-) I thought I would try out my new camera that I recently purchased.
Vegas is one of those towns where there is so much happening and so many wierdos and creatures eveywhere you look. I'm usually not a big fan. But this night while out with my new DSLR in hand I decided I would look for those moments and those images that are often looked past in a town like vegas. I was crossing a bridge when I heard music coming from down the way. It sounded decent so I decided to take a look. I set up my camera and started to record. Feeling a bit like a creep I threw a few bucks in his case to loosen him up about the idea of me filming him.He started singing and it wasn't bad. I have heard too many horrible musicians in the street, but he was actually talented. I often wonder why the music industry is so wrapped up with American Idol and these fabricated ways of finding talent. It really is all around us. We usually dismiss it and move along. Glad I didn't....
